New York City's unofficial new kit



After Manchester City and the New York Yankees collaborated to form the an MLS team to rival the Big Apple Red Bulls, a design agency took the opportunity to put together a slick branding portfolio.



New York City were unveiled during the Premier League club US tour last month, and Hyperakt knocked up their designs for a new kit, badge and all manner of merchandise in their unofficial and unsolicited portfolio.



The new MLS franchise will become the 20th club in America topflight at the beginning of the 2015 season, and New Yorkbased Hyperakt have produced stylish designs in their unsolicited pitch.



The cheap nike nfl jerseys company decided to work with the navy blue of the Yankees and the iconic Sky blue of the 2012 Premier League champions to create their take on how the new merchandise should look.



They have even envisaged how the kit might look by placing their take on the new badge over a generic Adidas strip. The home kit, like their sister club in Manchester, would be sky blue with a navy trim, and the alternative kit would reverse the two colours. A third kit shows shades of the German national team's jersey, with its austere white design and dark trim.



The badge Hyperakt global jerseys online have come up with consists of the letters York City Football Club inside a navy circle which encases a pentagon to signify a side for each of the city's boroughs.



The design agency have placed the badge on everything from baseball caps, to doctored billboards, mobile phone covers and even a bus.



On some of the superimposed billboards pictured around New York and atop the city's worldrenowned yellow taxis, the words 'Brooklyn bleeds blue' and 'we bleed blue' can be seen alongside the club's wouldbe crest.



York City Football Club feels big in scope, the company official website reads. is unfettered by associations to mascots or natural phenomena, which is refreshing for an American sports franchise. The only clear inheritance is the blue colour palette of the parent organizations. Other than that, this brand is completely wide open.

Judging by these photos NYCFC will be everything but a football club. Something City fans pride themselves on being part of, the 'best' football club in the world. Credit where it's due however that is one nifty baseball cap, cannot wait to see the keyrings and pencil cases.
